Icing is great for acute injuries. Often when we hurt ourselves our instinct is to put heat on the injured area. Try to avoid this, ice is always better. When using an ice pack remember to keep the ice pack on for 20 minutes. The area will get cold, start burning and then goes numb. Once the area is numb the tissue will not get any colder.
